League of Angels – Heaven’s Fury is a difficult game to rate, since it is not exactly a game as such. If you're here for a Path of Exile or Diablo III-style experience, you'll be disappointed.

You see, Heaven's Fury plays itself. Once the game started, my character ran away on his own and started talking to characters and killing monsters automatically. This is basically how the game works. You choose what you want to do, be it story quests, bounty quests, or even group dungeons, and your character goes.

You can disable auto mode, but I can't really say it's worth it. There's little variation in combat, with missions just having you stand in one particular spot and kill hundreds of static enemies. When it comes to boss battles, there's no incentive to dodge attacks or use skills smartly - it's your stats against theirs.

And, boy, are there a lot of stats to look at, if you're feeling inclined. As your character progresses through Heaven's Fury, you will be bombarded with items and upgrades. You have gear sets that you can upgrade, refine, and augment (each requires different items), you get a divine shield and weapon, a mount, a summon angel... the list goes on and on. There are also many ways to collect these items. Along with the story quests, for example, there are refinement and experience dungeons that offer different rewards. Experience dungeons put you on the back of a flying beam, where you kill enemies non-stop for several minutes.

Additional damage and experience bonuses are available if you are willing to spend in-game diamonds or premium gold currency. Freedom isn't Free

League of Angels: Heaven's Fury is free to play and is firmly in the category where you can't really play at your own pace. The various features are capped daily, and we encourage you to dig into your premium purchases to stay current. On my first day of play, I won a couple of hundred levels easily. However, after a week, without much forbearance on gold purchases, I found that my progress slowed to a crawl

Among the many things you can spend real money on are various lottery wheels to spin, "rare" loot boxes that can only be opened with gold, and a treasure island that requires you to spend Vault Keys to open chests. The first few chests ask for two or four keys, but eventually, they'll ask for over a hundred! Good luck getting that many in a reasonable amount of time without spending any real money.

So what is the purpose of leveling anyway? I don't think I can really say it's because of the story. Ignoring the fact that I missed half of it, letting my character venture out while I'm making lunch or ordering other admins, it starts repeating itself, just in a slightly different order. Our journey begins the moment we log in and choose our server, transported to a seemingly underwater abyss realm where you meet an angel named Nocturna who is currently trapped and in a weakened state, to free her you are tasked with defeating to some dark guardians, including some boss-type NPCs known as Akayla. Player involvement during combat is completely non-existent, combat takes place in an instanced area that requires a loading screen to load and then as soon as you enter the battle the enemy will perform their attacks after a dialogue.
